3. Install the ExpressVPN firmware
In your web browser’s address bar, enter 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1, or routerlogin.net. (If you have changed your default gateway in the past, you can find it in your device settings.)
If prompted, enter your Netgear router’s username and password. By default, they are admin and password. Select Sign In.
Note: If you cannot sign in with admin and password, you can try signing in with the default credentials printed on the bottom of your Netgear router. However, if you changed them in the past but cannot remember them, you will have to hard-reset your router so you can use the default credentials to sign in.
In the router’s admin settings, select the ADVANCED tab.
On the sidebar, select Administration > Router Update.
Select Browse to look for the ExpressVPN firmware .chk file you downloaded earlier.
Select Upload. If you are prompted to terminate your internet connections, select OK.
Your router should restart automatically.

4. Connect to the router running ExpressVPN
Connect your device to the new VPN router via Wi-Fi or LAN cable.
For Wi-Fi, the network name will appear as the Netgear router’s Wi-Fi name. (If you did not change your Netgear router’s Wi-Fi network name before, it is the default Wi-Fi network name printed on the bottom of your Netgear router.) It may take a while to appear in your list of networks.
