What is an eSIM? What do I use it for?

An embedded SIM (eSIM) works in the same way as a regular SIM card to provide you with network reception. But unlike a SIM card, you don’t have to physically insert an eSIM—just download and install it on your device and you’re all set.

You can use eSIMs to avoid expensive roaming fees while traveling, as well as switch carriers and phone numbers without fiddling around with physical SIM cards.

Does an eSIM protect my privacy?

With an eSIM, there is no need to take the risk of using unsecure public Wi-Fi hotspots in hotels and coffee shops.

Of course, in order to ensure your privacy is protected, we recommend you use an eSIM together with ExpressVPN. That way, you can rest easy knowing your online privacy is protected, no matter where your adventures take you.
